With so many wellness magazines and professional blog posts out on the internet these days, it can be hard to know what information is actually worth your time. Here are six great ways to stay healthy.
6 Ways To Stay Healthy
1. Sleep well
If you are not sleeping well, you will not feel well. You need to get your eight hours. You need to sleep for a minimum of 7-8 hours (no less!). The body needs the rest and your mind is too active to do anything else!
2. Learn Your Body
Learn to listen to your body and learn what it tells you when it’s close to fighting with you. Knowing that you are doing something that is harmful could save your life! It could also make you sick sooner, which is generally healthier! So take care of yourself and learn how your body works so that you can keep it healthy.
3. Get some fresh air
Get outside as much as you can! This doesn’t have to be exhausting (although it could be), but it could make a big difference in your overall happiness. Get up and move around. Go for a walk. Go rock climbing! Just get outside and enjoy the world around you.
4. Drink Water
This is always a popular one. So unless you are an endurance athlete (and most of us aren’t, so that doesn’t apply), drink lots of water! You should be getting 2 liters per day! While this may not be possible for some people all of the time, it is still a great goal to shoot for.
5. Eat your veggies
Eat about 1.5 cups of fruit and 2 cups (about 3 servings) of vegetables every day. This could mean soup, a small salad or just adding some extra colors to what you are eating already. This will add so much flavor and nutrition to your diet that you will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner!
6. Plant Your Own Garden
Get involved with your local gardening club and plan on spending a few hours every week in the garden! You can start small, learning how to do all of the basic things so you can be confident in what you are doing. And then you can take it from there! Planting, watering and harvesting your own food is amazing. It will make you healthier, happier and more self-sufficient.
In the end, the best thing about staying healthy is that you get to stay alive. And with more time alive comes more time to be healthy and happy. So keep on keeping on! Just follow these simple tips and soon you’ll be known as a champion of health!
